UMBRA Partnership — Builders of the Future

A Jakarta law firm, a milestone anniversary, and a theme that had to be lived, not just printed on a banner

UMBRA Partnership, one of Jakarta’s leading law firms, approached Shakran Event to design their 6th anniversary celebration around a theme that mattered to them: “Builders of the Future: Realizing Vision through Sustainable Legal Solutions.” The brief wasn’t simply “plan a party” — it was to create a journey that reflected the firm’s values around sustainability, innovation, and team culture, and to close it with a celebration befitting a milestone year.

Shakran Event responded with a 4-day Yogyakarta itinerary that layered three distinct experiences into one cohesive story: a hands-on CSR activity rooted in sustainability, an adventure activity that built shared memories outside the office, and a formal gala evening — the Masquerade Ball — that gave the anniversary its emotional centerpiece.

1
Day 1 · November 23
En Route to Yogyakarta
Departure logistics handled end-to-end, Gambir to Yogyakarta

The journey began at Gambir Station, Jakarta, where the UMBRA team departed for Yogyakarta with the Shakran Event team accompanying them for the entire trip. For a corporate group, this first leg matters more than it might seem — smooth departure logistics set the tone for everything that follows, and having an event team present from the very first hour removes the friction that so often derails a company trip before it even begins.

2
Day 2 · November 24
Eco-Print Workshop & Merapi Jeep Lava Tour
Sustainability meets adventure — the emotional core of the trip

Arriving in Yogyakarta at 4:00 AM, the team began the day with breakfast at Kopi Klothok before heading to Desa Prima Kartini, Wedomartani, for a hands-on eco-print fabric workshop. Eco-printing — a natural dyeing technique that transfers the shapes and pigments of leaves and flowers directly onto fabric — gave the UMBRA team a tactile, memorable way to engage with the firm’s sustainability theme, while directly supporting a local women’s artisan collective.

In the afternoon, the itinerary shifted gears entirely: a Merapi Jeep Lava Tour took the team exploring the volcanic landscape of Mount Merapi, one of Java’s most active volcanoes. Lunch was served at Sop and Sate Sapi Pak Bayu, a well-loved local spot, and the day closed with dinner at Waroeng of Raminten — introducing the team to the rich, distinctive flavors of Yogyakarta cuisine in a setting as memorable as the food itself.

🌿 Why the CSR-then-adventure sequence matters: Pairing a purposeful, values-driven activity with a high-energy adventure in the same day creates a rhythm that keeps a corporate group engaged without feeling like a packed tour schedule. It’s a structure Shakran Event uses often — meaning first, momentum second.

Day 3 · November 25
Free Time & the Masquerade Ball
The centerpiece of the celebration — a gala evening at Hotel Tentrem

The morning was left deliberately open, giving participants time to enjoy the facilities of Hotel Tentrem Yogyakarta at their own pace — a small but important design choice for a multi-day corporate trip, where unstructured time helps prevent fatigue before the evening’s main event. Lunch featured the legendary Soto Pak Soleh, another local culinary landmark woven into the itinerary.

The evening was the highlight of the entire journey: UMBRA Partnership’s 6th Anniversary Masquerade Ball, staged at Hotel Tentrem’s ballroom. Shakran Event handled the full production — thematic masquerade decor, stage design, lighting, a run of show featuring diverse performances, and interactive games that kept the entire room engaged from welcome toast to closing number. It was the moment where six years of the firm’s growth were formally, and elegantly, celebrated.

Day 4 · November 26
Return to Jakarta
A closed loop — smooth departure logistics to match the smooth arrival

The participants said their goodbyes to Yogyakarta and returned to Jakarta by train from Tugu Station to Gambir Station — closing the loop on a journey that had opened four days earlier at that same origin station. A clean, well-managed return is easy to overlook in event planning, but it’s often what determines whether a trip is remembered as effortless or exhausting.

The Format

Why This Structure Works for Corporate Anniversaries

Three ingredients, one narrative arc — a formula Shakran Event has refined across dozens of corporate events

UMBRA Partnership’s 6th anniversary journey wasn’t simply a sequence of activities — it followed a narrative arc that most memorable corporate trips share: a meaningful activity that connects to the company’s values (the eco-print CSR workshop), a shared adventure that builds camaraderie outside the usual office context (the Merapi Jeep Lava Tour), and a formal celebration that gives the milestone its proper closure (the Masquerade Ball). Remove any one piece, and the trip risks feeling either too corporate or too much like a vacation with no real occasion behind it.

This is the same framework Shakran Event applies to anniversary celebrations, incentive trips, and milestone events for corporate clients across sectors — not a fixed template, but a structure flexible enough to reflect each company’s own theme, values, and team culture.
